E-reader VS Paper: My thoughts

Hii everyone,

As said in my last review of ''Rebel of the sands'' i got an e-reader. And because i hear a lot of negativity about those ''futuristic reading tablets'' as we old-fashioned readers would call them, i wanted to tell you all the truth about reading with an e-reader.

First of all an E-reader has LOTS of pro's and con's. so let's talk about those for a bit. I really love the fact that there are so much cheap books to buy when you have an e-reader, i got 'Rebel of the sands'' for only 0.99! and right now i have a TBR list of 4 other books which i got for only 7 euros (for this prize i normally almost get 1 paperback) so for book-bloggers like me, or people who just read A LOT e-books are definitely something to think about getting. I would also highly recommend them to people who like to learn english or can sometimes miss a word or two, not knowing what it means. because (at least my e-reader) has this amazing feature where you tap a word and get a dictionary page with translations and meanings. I must say i use this a lot so it's really helpful. also when you love to mark or write in books (like i sometimes do) you can just do that virtually too.

Then let's get into the con's which actually is only one: you won't have the beautiful book on your shelf so you can show of how intelligent you are. But actually there is a pro in that too: no more re-building your whole room to make a bookshelf fit in. though i still find this a little hard to deal with, it makes getting a paperback way more exciting! i mean, i will definitely be way happier when i will get all these books piles on my birthday. also i still plan on getting the beautiful covers and the favorites in real life, the ones with an okay-cover or which don't seem AMAZING to me i read on my e-reader.

As you all might know Rebel of the sands has a beautiful cover, so although i've already read it i will still buy that one ;)

of course, we all crave holding a book between our fingers because in these times everything already is virtualized, books are supposed to be our way out of the world, just go back in time for a while and not be modern for a few hours. but books are expensive (especially when you're still in school and don't have a weekend job like me) and heavier. so let's just read in all ways possible, and have some variety in our routine.

All the love,

-E
