The Names they gave us, by Emery Lord

Hii everyone, . The book i will be reviewing today is called "the names they gave us" . "the names they gave us" is the story about a girl named Lucy Hansson, she is sweet, loving, and faithfull to god. When Lucy leaves for prom she is ready to have an amazing summer , working at bible camp near the lake where she's gone for years and years. But when her mother's cancer reappears and her boyfriend pauses their relationship Lucy slowly starts slipping away, espcially from god, who does not seem to be on her side anymore. Lucy's mother asks her to go to daybreak to be a counselor: a summer camp for children who have problems at home. But when Lucy decides to go, she would have never thought what this summer could bring her. . It is an emotional and lovely story about love, friendship, losing hope, and finding faith in the small things in life. . I must say i loved this book a lot, i had never read about faithfullness like this before. Never about god and church, and this really opened my eyes on how to see god. This book had a bit of everything in it: betrayal, hurt, love, friendship, hope, faith. And you do really feel it along. It shows you hoe the darkest times may show you who you are, or bring you closer to yourself and others. Although the romance part in this book just didn't give me "the feels", the rest of the relstionships were very very real, especially the one between lucy and her ill mom. This is a book, that shows you you're never truly lost, because you will always fit in somewhere and feel home, and the open ending leaves you with enough questions to fill your mind with for atleast a day. . I truly recommend this book for people who'd love to try reading about faith instead of only romance and like to read books that can make you tear up a time or two. It can be bought for €9,99 (paperback) and was written by the great Emery Lord . All the love, E
