What it's really like to be a bookblogger

Some of you might think being a bookblogger is very easy, i did too. but right now i see how much time it takes, how much work you need to do, and let's be honest, my bookblog isn't even that popular.

when i started out on bookstagram i thought it would be easy, just a picture here and there, one review a week, a bit of reading here and there. but the fact is, i am not a fast reader, i don't sit down and read all day, i never even finished a book within a day. this makes it less easy to post every week, there is a lot of pressure.

so reading takes time, and i have to make sure to read one book a week, if i have time or not, i just have to make sure i do. when you can't post or can't read you disappoint people, well, you feel like you do. you feel like you're not worth gaining followers because the blog wasn't updated.

but i take my time, sometimes i just can't post, i'm human, i can find no time, i can forget to post. and i accept that now.

right now i'm on summer break, but when school starts, there's more work to do, and more books to read. i will have to start reading in german this year, which will be a big task, and i will get a whole list of book to read for school, next to that there is my book blog, i'm just scared that someday, it might be too much.

but you guys are here, loving my reviews, sending me cute and sweet messages, and let's be honest, how amazing is it to have 700+ followers who you can inspire and talk to and share a passion with? okay, sometimes it's a bit much, but i will never regret starting off with Girlwithabookshelf, because this brought me so much, and i just love what i'm doing!

All the love,

E
